Every business owner should know where his customers are gathering in the online space. No matter the amount of money you put into Facebook advertisement, if you don’t understand who your buyers are, you will be throwing money to the birds.

Today I won’t be talking about how to do your market research nor how to identify your ideal buyer’s persona, but rather I would talk more on how to sell your business by generating compelling leads.

You might be surprised and ask, what is a lead? As business owner, you must understand the important of lead generation in your business.

Lead generation is an offer sent out to a public space, where you think your ideal customer’s hangout in other to get them interested in what you are offering and in exchange for what you are offering, they would want to give you their contact details in other not to miss out from the valuable offer showed to them.

So the goal of a lead is not to sell to a viewer immediately but to get  your customer interested in what you are offering(not your product but something you know that falls into the buyers persona of what you are  selling and that would interest them).

Example: if you own a travelling company, your lead generation can be a tour guide or an article on ‘10 places every Nigerian must visit’. This might be to inform people about the best tourist center in Nigeria. Since you know that people like to travel for tourism and recreation purposes.

It will be absurd to create a lead that is not related to solving a pain point of an ideal buyer persona because you would be wasting your precious time trying to convince someone to travel with your company when he has not even finish easting 3 square meal.
Whoever clicks your link has intention of travelling soon and that gives your company the opportunity to be the one who will issue out the ticket or process the visa he/she would use. So be smart in creating lead to your business.

Lead generation is very simple to achieve if you know what the end goal is. The end goal of every lead is to get your customer details so you can follow up on them and finally close the deal.

If the goal is to get the customer details, then you should know that your customers are not just foolish to give their precious details out just like that. Since they wont give you their details just like that, let talk about an offer.

So, it bring me to the point of creating an offer. Creating an offer your customers cant reject will be your key strategy to getting their details.

Your offer must be something really interesting to them and can must be a solution to any of your customers paint point question.

If the offer would help your customer solve/answer a pain point question they always find struggling with in their business, then they would be glad to exchange it for their contact.

Remember, the details you would need most is their contact number and email address. So, when creating your lead generation, they would always be a space to input phone and email address as this will be used for follow up purpose.
